A worthy observation, especially as life should have a good dash of fun in the mix and not just be about toil and striving. Toward the worthwhile goal of promoting some fun, celebration, and connection amongst the LOST tribe even as LOST nears the end of its run, I want to see if folks are interested in gathering --in realtime and realspace-- for some LOST parties.
Several times and places come immediately to mind as likely candidates:
5:00pm, Thursday, 03SEP2009, at the Lost Penguin --just like last year; those who showed up had fun!-- the Lost Penguin is a friendly cafe located on the Esplanade at Black Rock City, Nevada, during Burning Man. For all the logistical info on this LOST tribe get-together opportunity, read up via this link www.burningman.com/
Exact time, date, & place To Be Arranged, but somewhere on Oahu in 2010 when the series ends there is sure to be a big finale screening and casual revels at a beachparty, as well as probably some more posh and well-dressed events in Honolulu too if one could get tickets for such. If members of our LOST tribe hear about dates and places where official LOST events will be happening on Oahu as the series nears its wrap, please do post the info; it would be fun to connect up in person with one another at some of those events.
A couple of days after the official and quasi-official slate of posh glitteratti do's at the hotels and scruffy casual sandy beach celebrations of the LOST series wrap all conclude in Oahu, if folks in our LOST tribe are interested to come then I'd be pleased to host a private LOST-tribe-only gathering at my place near Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Holding our event a couple days after everything concludes over on Oahu would allow folks (m'self included!) to attend both, with time enough for some sightseeing on Oahu before flying over to the orchid isle. My place on the Big Island is fairly large and has a whole bunch of futons on the first level so starving students and other folks can crash there after the get-together if they want (or if such is just convenient -no driving away after a few Mai-Tai's unless there is a designated driver!). There are also hundreds of B&Bs all over the island (probably about 20 of them located within a couple miles of my place). The B&B's range from very private prim-&-proper little places to fairly large-&-lively so any temperament can be suited; prices range from around $60-$150 per night. Here are links to a couple B&B's I have stayed at myself and can personally recommend (one close to my place and one over on the Kona side) and also some portals for Puna district B&B's near my place in general.

I mention this now because if you are like me then your calender for 2010 is being penciled in _now_ and if folks are enthusiastic about get-togethers in the Black Rock Desert, on Oahu, and on the Big Island then some logistical planning lead time is good to have for getting the best deals on airfares, rental cars, and such.
Is there any enthusiasm amongst the LOST tribe for LOST tribe get-togethers in the the Black Rock Desert, Oahu, the Big Island, and elsewhere? 'Yal in El Lay, SF, NYC, and so on- please do speak up if you want to host events in your localities as well.

Re: LOST Party Time-Travel!

Alas, I was busy with tasks packing for the move to Hawaii and taking care of suchlike biz so did not make it to the Lost Penguin this year for another fun LOST tribe rendezvous at Burning Man -did anyone else among the LOST tribe pull it together and connect with one another out there in the Black Rock Desert?
If folks know of dates and places for when and where official LOST series-wrap events and festivities will be occurring on Oahu, in El Lay, and so on then please do post them here.
I'm already booked for several stretches of dates in 2010 and am sure others are even more busy than I am- good advance planning is going to be necessary for making it to some of these LOST series wrap events. One of which will include a party at my house on the Big Island of Hawaii for members of this tribe. If you are a member of this tribe (or accompanying family of a LOST tribe member) then you are invited to the party -it would be delightful for folks to enjoy meeting in person at a series-wrap celebration in Hawaii!
